§ 14-32. Fire relief association

The fire department shall have the authority to organize itself into a relief association, elect its own president and other officers, adopt a constitution and bylaws, not inconsistent with any laws or ordinances or resolutions adopted by the city council, and to do all things necessary to promote the welfare of the fire department.
