§ 18.5-43. New public roads

  • New public roads to be built as part of the new development shall be constructed to the standards adopted by the City of Victoria contained in the City of Victoria Subdivision Ordinance and the City of Victoria's Engineering Department's Specifications for Subdivision and Street Improvements.

    (1) The type of road to be built shall be based on the projected volume of traffic that will be generated by the new development in accordance with the aforementioned standards by the City of Victoria, or as determined by the county engineer and/or the State Highway Department of Transportation depending on the jurisdiction of the roadway in question.

    (2) The city engineer may require a traffic impact study for proposed commercial or residential development to be provided by the developer in order to determine existing road capacities and construction standards applicable to the new development.
